New Studio Space

At last , it's done !

I am now the proud tenant of a little bit of workshop at the Arts and Crafts Centre where I sell my things ( sometimes) . I have taken a bit of time taking things there and setting up, about 6 of us are taking up studio spaces so we will have a little creative community. My Husband is thrilled because he now has unresticted access to various parts of the house which were full of my sewing things- most notably our dining table...

I am also thrilled because I won't spend ages getting it all out and putting it all away again. I am really looking forward to making things alongside other makers , it should be quite exciting. I usually show things I'm making to my family and their feedback is limited by what they are watching on tv/playing with...It generally goes along the lines of " Very nice, What's it for ?"

I think I may have mentioned my storage obsession before, I've had such a nice time putting all my fabrics and threads in boxes and tins. Now it is all set for action next week.

My work in the shop has moved onto this nice dresser which I'm sharing with a lovely lady who makes jam and paints fans.

We have also brought in some lovely old bits of furniture to display the craft work in the shop - looks great doesn't it ?

I particularly love the red sofa...

Hopefully my next post will be full of creativity , with lots of lovely new things, or at the very least I will have made my curtains!

love Louise x

Excuses.

This post is all about me making excuses for not having done a lot lately. Bear with me please !!

I haven't been posting this week because I've been working on my new studio space- I'm dying to show you but I haven't photographed it yet... I'll get there really I will.
I want to show you some photos of the Craft Shop too, it's looking really great, another little job.

I have a couple of little crochet projects on the go...
A shrug in lovely lovely baby bamboo. This is such great yarn to work with.

My granny square blanket is also growing, rather slow by my usual standards, but it is hot here you know !!

This is the curtain fabric I bought this morning at the market,no excuse now not to make the curtains...

And these are the rings I bought for 1 euro each on the same market...can't resist a bargain.

I'll be back soon with some photos of the studio space soon - (so exciting)

Right I'd better get on with it hadn't I?

Ps I have been reading lots of blogs but my computer time is limited until the children go back to school, I don't always have time to comment- Sorry x

Picking up the threads

Dear friends
I'm back from under my palm tree. We had 3 lovely weeks, the only decision to be made was where to put my lounger in the morning and what to eat and drink. No housework, no errands,no work!!It feels like we've been on a retreat from the real world and we're just beginning to pick up the threads. Luckily still two more weeks until early mornings, packed lunches and homework begin again.

The children, in contrast to their horizontal parents have had a very busy three weeks. There were pools to be swum in, waves to be surfed, friends to play Pool with(a new obsession), and kids club activities to join in with.

They are chilling out this weekend and recovering their energy, I hope they've had a good rest because tomorrow we go on our annual pilgrimage to buy school uniform and sensible shoes. My lovely girl is 13 now and our ideas on suitable footwear are wildly divergent.I have actually come to be glad that her school allows the wearing of trainers, at least they don't have high heels...

I haven't been able to crochet much during my holiday, just too hot and my hands were always sticky with factor 30 suncream. I'm quite in the mood now I'm back so we'll see what comes along.I also have some boring sewing projects to do...a new zip to be put in a skirt... some curtains to make...

Like I said, just starting to pick up the threads. I'm really looking forward to getting round the blogs and seeing what everyone has been up to. I'm sure that will inspire me to get my hook and yarn out later!!

Lots of love to you all.
